Jordan: Friday, September 3: Dead Sea at Mujib

I went to Jordan with my daughter, Kristen, her friend Nadia, and Nadia's husband, Joshua.. We had a great flight. The plane  was reasonably empty when it left Detroit on the evening of 2 September but filled up almost completely in Montreal.  We landed the following afternoon,  went through customs, picked up our rental car by 4:30 PM, and headed to Wadi Mujib, stopping in Madaba for gas and dinner. Mujib Chalets were right on the Dead Sea, so as soon as we checked in we headed down to the Dead Sea where we watched the sun set while we floated in the incredibly salty water.

Chalet is not the word I would have chosen for these individual stucco units, but it's what they call them here.

Food: Nothing special. We stopped at a cafe in Madaba and picked up savory filled breads as well as bottles of water.

Accommodation: Mujib Chalets.  Near the Desert Highway with access for swimming in the Dead Sea. A number of individual stucco units, some of them behind the others. We liked it so much that we stayed here twice.  The second time we asked for one closer to the Dead Sea, not one of the ones set further back. Warm showers with decent flow. Internet only in main building where we ate.  5/5
Strongly recommend.

Other:  This was a reasonable itinerary for landing in late afternoon. We would do it again. We loved swimming in the Dead Sea at sunset.  It would have been nice to spend more time in the Dead Sea.
